Get the Look: An Orange Caterpillar Chair in Two Real Homes
Share
Two homes, one chair. These photos came from two different customers, in different rooms, and the orange Caterpillar fireside chair looks settled in both — less about the chair matching things, more about what sits around it.
The first room keeps a strict colour discipline: grey carpet, cream walls, one teal curtain. The second has been claimed by a dog. Both are worth a closer look.
What orange needs around it
Plants do the softening. Against a bare white wall, orange can read loud. Here the dracaena's thin leaves break up all that colour at exactly eye level, and the two ceramic pots on the carpet quietly repeat the terracotta note.
Cool neighbours help. The teal curtain and grey carpet pull the room back towards neutral, so the chair stays the single warm voice in the space instead of one among many.
The pleats earn their keep. In the close-up below, the ribs read as wide, soft channels rather than busy stripes — texture you can pick out from across the room.
Low enough to be claimed
The second photo is a bedroom, and the chair sits there like a low hill beside the bed. For a small dog, that is not furniture — that is territory, and the white fur against the orange pleats is the best colour pairing in either room. Low, stable and soft-edged, the Caterpillar shape tends to end up as the pet's spot, so if you share your home with an animal, measure the corner with that in mind.

The chair in both photos is our Caterpillar single seater, which comes in Orange Corduroy and Orange Suede, among others — the full list is on the product page. For every shape in one place, browse the Caterpillar-style collection. And if you missed it, last month we paired a cream loveseat with a brick wall — the same low shape in its quietest colour.
